I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the Glasgow Fever Basketball Club website.
There has never been a better time to find out more about Glasgow Fever. We’ve had a packed season, with so much happening on and off the court, and a huge thank you has to go out to our committee members and all of our coaches who keep the club going through their tireless efforts.
On the court, our Under 10s and Under 12s have been playing in the Regional Development Leagues and it’s been really great to see so many of our young players enjoying basketball at a competitive level. Our senior women have had a spectacular season, winning the SLBA Cup and securing their first ever SLBA league title, as well as claiming the Chairman’s Cup for the second year in a row.
We’ve also had a busy few months out and about in the community, delivering sessions in nursery, primary and secondary schools, largely thanks to our successful application for funding to employ a coach via basketballscotland’s Spalding Community Coach programme. As a safety-conscious and inclusive club, we were delighted to receive Club Mark Level 1 Status from Glasgow Life, a key partner. And, as one of our main aims here at Glasgow Fever has always been the promotion of positive involvement in basketball at all levels, we were absolutely delighted to be accredited by basketballscotland as a Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) club. In addition, recognition as a club who deliver best practice led to a recent visit from sportscotland, who will be producing a promotional PCS film using photos, footage and interviews from Glasgow Fever sessions (we’ll be sure to put it on the website once it’s been released).
I trust that you’ll enjoy your visit to our website and we’d love to see you at a Fever event soon.
Thanks for your support.
